Independent audits by an architect

Every hotel issue has a cause in the space. We find it and draw the fix.

We stay as paying guests, measure what guests feel, and trace each problem to its root in the design, the building systems or the operation. You get a prioritised plan your team can act on and, if you wish, the interior architecture, renovation or facelift design to carry it out.

AApproach

A standard inspection records the problem. We explain it and draw the solution.

Brand quality inspections tell you what failed against a checklist. They rarely tell you why it keeps failing, or what to change in the space. That is where an architect's eye makes the difference.

Typical inspection note

"Breakfast: guests waited to be seated. Standard not met."

Observation
Saturday, 09:45: twelve guests waiting at the host stand. 37 minutes from first arrival to a table; 22 minutes for an egg dish.
Root cause
A room designed for dinner serves weekend breakfast: no overflow space, one coffee point, no waiting list, low evening lighting.
Fix
Open a meeting room as weekend overflow, introduce a waiting list, add a second coffee point, programme a morning lighting scene.

BMethod

Five steps, from check-in to a plan your team can use.

  1. STEP 1

    Stay

Unannounced, as a paying guest, usually two nights including a peak morning.

  2. STEP 2

    Measure

Light in lux, sound in dB(A), waits in minutes, clearances in centimetres. Every point is photographed and timed.

  3. STEP 3

    Diagnose

Each finding is traced to design, building systems, maintenance or operation.

  4. STEP 4

    Report

Photos, sketches and a plan ranked by guest impact and effort: immediate, maintenance budget or capital project.

  5. STEP 5

    Walk through

A session with your management and engineering teams to agree what happens first.

Interior architecture, renovation & facelift

When an audit points to a design change, we can also design it and draw it for construction. From a quick facelift of a lobby or breakfast room to a full guest-room renovation, the same architect who found the problem develops the solution, through to construction drawings.

  • Facelift: new finishes, lighting and furniture within the existing layout
  • Renovation: concept, layout options and design development
  • Construction drawings and details for tender and build
  • Material, lighting and FF&E selection and coordination
  • Site follow-up during works

DLibrary

Every audit becomes a case in the library.

Cases are published without hotel names, room numbers or staff details. Full reports are shared only with the hotel.

  • An excellent room product: view, acoustics and materials stand out.
